The town of Beze was one of our first stops in Burgundy, and one of our favorites. The River Beze emerges out of the ground in a park, flows gently through the town, and clear as glass past the 14th century castle tower d’Oysel. In the 18th century a beautiful Lavoir was built between the river and the tower. This was a public water source for cattle, and for clothes washing.
