Wild Tasmania

We just enjoyed the 45 minute documentary “Wild Tasmania” at the State Theatre. The film is nominally about the status of the endangered wedge-tailed eagle, which leads directly to an overview of our island forest management. We have long felt that timbering Tasmania’s old growth forest was bad public policy. This documentary is short on objective facts and figures, but long on beautiful images of the Tasmania wilderness. You can find more background here – including the Wilderness Society and Forestry Tasmania.
